Saint Charles Borromeo Religious Education programs join with the parents, who we consider to be primary educators of their children, in helping our youth to know and understand their Catholic Faith. SAINT CHARLES CONFIRMATION & YOUTH MINISTRY
Confirmation – Sacramental
Preparation Process (beginning in 9th grade)
The Confirmation Program is a two-year program focusing on catechesis and community building for candidates in order to prepare them to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The classes meet about twice a month in small groups discussing various topics, along with active learning by means of activities. The first part of the program, the Period of Invitation, focuses on inviting the students into the process. The second is the Period of Formation – connecting with the Gospel story of Jesus. The final stage, the Period of Reflection, concentrates in Roman Catholicism, its beliefs and practices. Throughout the program students have a mentor, or “Sponsor,” that they have chosen to help them during the journey. Other components of the Program include community service projects, retreats and liturgical celebrations.
Youth Ministry – Continuous faith formation for high school students (9th
thru 12th grade)
The goal of Youth Ministry at Saint Charles is to connect youth with Christ through the Eucharist. Youth Ministry is an added supplement to the Confirmation Program, and a continuing opportunity for high school students to explore their faith, discuss current issues, serve the community and have fun. Please check the
bulletin for upcoming meeting dates and times.
Always check the bulletin for any new information regarding the Confirmation and Youth Ministry Programs.
